I find podcasts and audio guides such a great way to regularly practice Mindfulness. Here I’ll share a few that I love, and that I regularly return, alongside eventually starting some of my own.

A cool head and a warm heart at the time of Corona

When I trained as a Mindfulness teacher Willem Kuyken (Professor of Mindfulness and Psychological Sciences at the University of Oxford) was one of the trainers. He is terrific.

In this podcast he explores how we navigate our way through this time, settling the mind, dealing with difficult thoughts and exploring future direction. Staying attentive, aware, stable and calm. Well worth a listen online or via the PodBean app.

the R.A.I.N practice with Tara Brach

This is one of my favourite practices. An opportunity to press pause every now and again and sit with our emotions, without judgement and answer the question ‘what do I need right now?’. It stands for - Recognise, Allow, Investigate, Nurture and is a great stand alone practice to manage challenging feelings, whenever they arise.

Here, the brilliant Mindfulness teacher and American psychologist Tara Brach guides you through a 12 minute R.A.I.N practice.

THE POWER OF PAUSE.

Even though we know the value of pausing it can sometimes be hard to practice it intentionally, and to use the pause wisely when we do.

This short practice invites you to try a 1 - 2 minute ‘power pause’ to cultivate micro moments of ‘inner silence’. When we do this we bring a little more clarity and calm to the next moment of our day. We are more present as leaders.
